Ranger brings you the latest up-to date news on-line. This page will feature any changes, announcements, and/or special promotions that may be sponsored by Ranger Communications through our dealer network. Both the Ranger Communications, Inc. Amateur products (RCI- Series) and the Texas Ranger line of CB products (TR- Series ) are sold only through a network of Ranger Authorized Dealers (RADs), however - parts and accessories are available direct from Ranger by telephone - see bottom of page.

Ranger Communications, Inc., (RCI) is pleased to announce that the warranty period on the RCI-DX Series has been increased from the published 1 year time period to a full 2 years. This includes parts and labor. Ranger believes that with the new surface mount devices (SMD) implemented within the design of this model, these models should have the longer warranty period. With surface mount components, Ranger has increased the resistance to shock and vibration. This will provide a more durable radio giving you a longer life span of the radio. ( Although we continually hear reports of radios 15 years old still in great operating condition.)

Combined with an improved receiver for increased sensitivity and image rejections, the use of a double FET balanced mixer for improved receiver intermodulation rejection, the DX Series is the top 10 & 12 meter amateur radio on the market. But Ranger didn't stop there. We redesigned the power supply protection circuit for temperature compensation, improved stability and reliability over wide temperature ranges and improved the display lighting to provide easy reading in varied light conditions.

With all these improvements, Ranger is proud to extend the warranty for these models. Be sure to save your dated receipt for any warranty requirements in the future. A good idea is to put your copy of the receipt in an envelope and place it in the front of the users manual. Now you will always have the proof of purchase handy if it is ever required.

November, 2002: Ranger Communications has just announced a price reduction on both models of the 6 meter mobile transceiver. The RCI-5054DX has a new lower price of only $319.00srp, with the RCI-5054DX-150 down to $449.00srp. See these models at  RCI-5054DX Series .

May, 2002: Ranger Communications will began shipping a new 100 watt version of the popular RCI-5054DX transceiver for 6 meters. This new model (RCI-5054DX-100) retains all the features of it predecessor, but with a higher power rating. With power levels of 50 watts (RMS) on CW/AM/FM and 100 watts (PEP) SSB, it is backed by a two ( 2 ) year warranty. See the details about this new version at  RCI-5054DX Series .

April, 2002: Ranger Communications has changed the circuit board of the RCI-6300F HP to a SMD style board - same as used in the RCI-6900F Series. Along with this change, a new designation has been given to the new model: RCI-6300F-25, and it also incorporates a new look. The chrome knobs have been replaced with black rubberized ones that offer a better "feel" and compliments the face plate. A sure winner in both performance and appearance.

June 2002: Ranger Communications changed the circuit board of the RCI-6300F TB to a SMD style board - same as used in the RCI-6900F Series. Again, a new designation has been given to the new model: RCI-6300F-150, along with the same new look as described above. This high power model features a new design in low profile amplifiers: die cast heat sink with a thermostat controlled cooling fan.

July, 2002: Ranger Communications has re-styled the RCI-6900F HP to incorporate the new front panel appearence with the same black rubberized knobs used in the RCI-6300F Series above. The new model designation for this redo is RCI-6900F-25.

September 2002: Ranger Communications has completed the re-styling of the 6000 series line with the change to the RCI-6900F TB. This model also will use the new rubberized black knobs and the new low profile amplifier as in the RCI-6300F-150. The new model designation for this radio is the RCI-6900F-150.

On July 16th, 2001, Ranger Communications began shipping a new transceiver designed for the 6 meter enthusiast. This new model offers an economical alternative to becoming active in the world of 50MHz. Patterned after the popular RCI2950DX, the new RCI-5054DX is an all mode mobile transceiver that covers the full 50-54MHz band. With power levels of 10 watts (RMS) on CW/AM/FM and 25 watts (PEP) SSB, it incorporates a new low profile design in the amplifier. See the details about this new model at  RCI-5054DX .
